Microsoft SQL Server 2015 will reach the end of extended support on April 12th, 2016. Extended support has been available since April 2011, so if you haven’t upgraded yet, it’s time to take action.

Here’s the scary part

End of support means there will be no further patches, bug fixes or security updates. This will eventually result in security risks, increased vulnerability to data issues, exposing other devices and applications of SQL Server to vulnerabilities and potential compliance headaches for your business.

But it’s not all doom and gloom

Microsoft’s later Server releases offer many benefits to organisations, and upgrading can result in increased efficiencies and cost savings.
