Ever since it started in 1989, the family-run British manufacturer of water heating products, Telford, has always taken pride in delivering the highest standards of quality throughout its business; from the materials it uses and the assembly of its cylinders to the levels of service provided by its team of nationwide engineers who support its trade partners.
More recently, this focus on quality underpinned the firm’s decision to upgrade and expand its financial system into a wider ERP system.
“We were using a legacy version of Microsoft Navision which was adequate as our accounting platform, but as our ambition is to increase market share and widen our product portfolio into renewable alternatives, we knew it was time to embrace how technology could help systemise our business further.”Neil Cooper, Financial Controller at Telford
Telford chose to upgrade this key IT application to Microsoft’s Business Central and chose Acora to manage the project. The scope will include expanding the system’s functionality from being one of purely financial control to a full business-wide system that will include warehouse and service management, and other business processes specific to Telford. Neil explains why it was important to choose the right partner and why that was Acora:
“This project is a huge opportunity to transform how we do things day to day to increase our competitive advantage. We really wanted a partner that could apply their in-depth Microsoft expertise and potential of the system to the nuances of our business. We had been recommended Acora as a trusted Microsoft Gold Partner with a strong track record in the manufacturing sector. Throughout the responsive sales engagement process, it became clear to us that Acora would approach the project with a level of governance and project management discipline that we were looking for in a new Dynamics partner – and importantly would challenge our status quo to unlock better ways of doing things.”Neil Cooper, Financial Controller at Telford
“We’re excited to be supporting Telford on its journey of digital transformation. Despite being in the digital age, businesses still have a long way to go to harness the power of IT. Firstly, there is inevitably some investment involved. However, so often it’s a mindset change and Acora is committed to constantly challenging our customers so we jointly work together to unlock the benefits for them of going digital.”Dave Rabson, CEO at Acora
