Matchpoint Careers (MCP), the first fully automated use of performance-predicting science to place the right people in the right jobs, had rapid global growth and expansion ambitions. However, their business‑critical psychometric testing platform had outgrown its single‑server setup.

To keep pace with demand and ensure long‑term reliability, they needed a modern, secure and highly scalable enterprise‑class environment, complete with dedicated development, testing and production systems.

Building a Bulletproof AWS Platform

Armed with this brief, Hydras, part of the Acora Group, collaborated closely with their CTO and development teams to explore the best architectural options within Amazon Web Services (AWS). Once the approach was agreed, we built a dedicated development and test environment to give the team hands‑on familiarity and space to validate the solution.

To streamline delivery, we implemented an automated deployment workflow that enabled developers to securely push code from their source repository straight into the environment, ensuring full compliance at every step. A configuration management service was introduced to maintain consistency, while security was embedded from the ground up: code was scanned at the point of commit, and the platform was architected to guard against potential intrusion.

With the foundations laid, a highly available, auto‑scaled and fully monitored production platform was created. The migration of applications from their legacy infrastructure to AWS was completed seamlessly, with zero downtime. Hydras continued to support Matchpoint Careers by managing the AWS environment end‑to‑end, including ongoing security operations monitoring.

Cloud Operations Reinvented

The engagement resulted in MPC having a secure and complete dev-test-production workflow within the AWS cloud, allowing them to utilise continuous deployment to test new code whilst allowing growth via automatic elasticity and redundancy.
