Since 1989, Acora has continually reinvented itself to stay ahead of technology’s biggest shifts. Today, we help organisations accelerate AI adoption, strengthen cyber resilience and modernise the technology foundations that drive business growth. Through strategic acquisitions, deep technical expertise and a commitment to delivering real-world outcomes, we’ve evolved into a trusted technology partner for some of the world’s leading organisations.
The timeline below charts the defining moments that have shaped Acora’s journey, expanded our capabilities and positioned us at the forefront of technology transformation.
ADA Computer Systems is founded, delivering infrastructure projects to SMEs, the first chapter in becoming one of the UK’s leading Business Technology Partners. This marked the early foundations of hands-on expertise and promise to help customers adopt technology, which became the stepping stone for future expansion.
The company faced a strategic new direction. With 50 staff and £5M turnover, David Rabson leads a management buy-out to transform the company into a market‑leading managed service provider with a focus on scalable, service-led delivery.
With David Hemmings joining the board as Chief Acquisitions Officer, PCS began executing its acquisition strategy, completing its first acquisition to strengthen application capabilities. The year also saw contracted revenues double and the opening of Pegasus House in Solihull, marking the start of the company’s expansion across the Midlands.
With an increasingly strong mid-market reputation and expanded service capability, the business undergoes a major rebrand transformation to Acora. At the same time, Richard Atkins joins as Chairman, adding strategic oversight.
Over the years, Acora experienced sustained organic growth as the demand for managed services spiralled. By 2015, the team had grown to almost 150 employees, with contracted revenue surpassing £23M. During this time, James Karp stepped into the Operations Director role, driving operational maturity and reinforcing a delivery model built around customer experience, efficiency and excellence.
Between 2017 and 2020, PCS transformed its capabilities and market position through a series of strategic acquisitions. Just Computing expanded technical expertise and talent, Plan-net added scale and established a significant presence in the legal sector, and Verber strengthened hosting and cloud platform services. Together, these acquisitions brought more than 150 employees into the business, deepened its managed services capabilities, and cemented PCS as a recognised leader in the legal sector.
This milestone year saw the acquisitions of Westgate IT and M9 Group, driving global expansion and introducing an offshore service in Kuala Lumpur to deliver scalable, around-the-clock support. With more than 400 employees and contracted revenues exceeding £60 million, the business significantly broadened its capabilities, scale, and international reach.
In 2022, Acora accelerated its cyber security ambitions through the acquisition of Secrutiny, one of the UK’s leading cyber security specialists. The combination of advanced SecOps expertise, threat intelligence and analytics-driven defence with Acora’s wider technology capabilities established the foundations of the integrated cyber offering customers benefit from today, delivering stronger protection, greater operational efficiency and enhanced resilience in an evolving digital world.
Continuing to strengthen our cyber security positioning, Acora acquired InfoSec Partners, a highly trusted business known for protecting complex and high‑risk environments.
This acquisition brought elite-level expertise, broadened Acora’s cyber footprint, and enhanced specialist skills vital for modern mid‑market and enterprise organisations.
This year marked a defining moment in Acora’s evolution. Alongside the launch of a global operating model and expansion into Cape Town, the acquisition of Elastacloud established Acora as a major force in Data & AI. By bringing together deep expertise in data science, machine learning and AI with Acora’s broader technology capabilities, the acquisition created a platform for innovation that would shape the company’s future growth and strategic direction.
Nine months after acquiring Elastacloud, Acora was seeing strong demand for its Data & AI capabilities as organisations accelerated AI adoption and digital transformation. The acquisition of Hydras and the opening of its London office further strengthened Acora’s position as a full-stack technology partner, while industry awards and the launch of Together Days reflected a year of growth, recognition and cultural momentum.
2026 has been a year of accelerating AI adoption across the board, helping organisations move beyond experimentation and turn AI ambitions into measurable business outcomes. Building on the successful integration of Elastacloud, Hydras and the acquisition of Handd, Acora has partnered with leading Legal Organisations, including Herbert Smith Freehills, to deliver transformative Data & AI initiatives that unlock greater efficiency, insight and innovation.
Combined with continued investment across Cyber Security, Cloud and Managed Services, Acora is strengthening its position as a trusted technology partner, helping enterprises navigate complexity and realise the full value of modern technology.
